There have been frequent chases and bloody clashes between two groups. At this time, a young man named Deen Islam (22) was killed by the terrorists.

At least 18 people were injured on both sides, including gunshots. Deceased Deen Islam is the son of Millat Saud of Naora village. Due to this incident, there is extreme fear among the common people of the area. It has also been alleged that the people of the parties have attacked and looted each other's houses.

The clash took place in the Naora area of Kayetpara Union of the upazila on Thursday evening.

OC of Rupganj Police Station Deepak Chandra Saha confirmed the matter.

According to eyewitnesses and local sources, there has been a dispute between two groups in Naora area for a long time, centered around land grabbing, dispossession and sand filling.

After a few days, those two groups have been chasing each other, clashes, shootings, attacks, vandalism, looting and casualties.

The people of those two groups chased and clashed with different types of weapons including pistols, shotguns, teta, kalam, juita, ramada, chapati, Chinese axes, samurai and other weapons. The attackers fired indiscriminately. The assailants attacked and vandalized the houses of one side, threw bricks and ransacked them. At this time, the common people of Naora village panicked.

Meanwhile, the young man named Deen Islam was shot dead by both sides.

Besides, at least 18 people including Arif Hossain, Rubel Mia, Abdullah Mia, Al Mamun, Sohail Mia, Kamal Hossain, Likon Ahmed, Jasmin, Wasim, Sakatullah, Anu, Noor Alam were injured on both sides.

On receiving the information, a large number of policemen led by Rupganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Deepak Chandra Saha reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

OC of Rupganj Police Station Dipankar Chandra Saha said that the situation was brought under control by sending the police to the spot after receiving the news of the clash. Additional police were deployed in the area.
