Bhuapur Upazila Hospital road in bad shape, public sufferings mount
Masudul Hasan Masud, Bhuapur (Tangail)
The main road leading to the Bhuapur Upazila Health Complex in Tangail has become completely impassable due to the formation of big potholes in various parts.
The general public including patients who come to seek services suffer from this. The main road leading to the upazila health complex in front of the land office does not seem to be a road at present.
As the road has not been repaired for a long time, water accumulates in a small part of the road and a big pothole has formed. Most of the road users are hospital patients. But unfortunately there has been no development or renovation of this road since the establishment of the hospital. There is no limit to the suffering of patients riding in any vehicle due to huge potholes in various parts of the road.
The talk is with autorickshaw drivers Shakeel, Monir, Ataur. While talking to them, they said that small and big potholes have been created at different places on this road. Drive slowly. Minor accidents happen frequently. As a result, patients traveling on this road, relatives of patients are constantly suffering. Hanif Mia of Tepibari village who brought the pregnant woman said that the condition of the road is very bad, it was very difficult to bring a pregnant patient. He said thousands of people travel through this road every day as it is the only road to the hospital.
Despite this, no initiative was seen by those concerned to repair the road. Tuhin Mia, a relative of a patient who came to the hospital with a patient injured in a road accident, said that it was very difficult to bring a sick patient to the Upazila Health Complex, because of the bad condition of the road, it is very difficult to bring any patient. Looking at this condition of the road, it seems that the road itself is sick. But you have to enter and exit through this road.
Critically ill patients who come for hospital services travel through this road. Sick patients suffer due to bad condition of the road. He demanded that the road should be repaired in a timely manner to alleviate the public suffering.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Abdus Sobhan said, on an average, 200 to 300 patients come to this health complex every day for medical treatment. They suffer a lot due to the poor condition of the roads.
Complex patients have more problems. When the matter was reported to the Deputy Commissioner, he asked the UNO to take necessary measures. I have informed Mr. Mayor several times. But no action is being taken till now.
