BGB to be on alert to maintain law and order ahead of JS polls: BGB DG

The members of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) will remain vigilant across the country to maintain law and order ahead of the 12th parliamentary election scheduled for January 7.
The BGB Director General (DG) Major General A K M Nazmul Hasan said this at a programme held at Satkania upazila in Chattogram on Tuesday.
The paramilitary forces will also maintain heightened vigilance at all strategic points to prevent the entry of illegal arms into the country during the election period, said the BGB chief.
Hasan participated in the closing parade session of BGB’s 100th recruit batch at its Baitul Izzat Training Centre in the region.
While talking to the journalists, he said they are aware of the ongoing unrest in neighboring Myanmar and said, “We are keeping our close watch in this regard.”
