BGB seizes 2.1 kg crystal meth at Teknaf border

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 2.117 kilograms (kg) of crystal meth ice during an operation in the Sabrang border area of Teknaf on Saturday night.
According to a BGB press release, acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB-2 conducted a drive at the Hariyakhali area of Sabrang border around 11:10pm yesterday and challenged two persons as they crossed the Naf River with baggage.
Sensing the presence of the BGB team, they discarded the bags and fled the spot, the release added.
The patrol team later recovered the crystal meth 'Ice' and a sharp local weapon known as 'Kirich'.
The BGB is currently working to identify the peddlers and has increased patrolling as a part of the ongoing drive against drug trafficking.
