BGB on high alert to prevent push-ins in Sylhet border areas

BGB is on high alert to prevent push-ins in the border areas of Sylhet. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is taking steps in the border areas of Sylhet to prevent illegal push-ins from India.
After the BJP won the West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections in May, the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) is trying to push Bengali-speaking people into Bangladesh by branding them as 'illegal Bangladeshis'. This month, the incidents of BSF's push-ins (forcibly pushing people across the border) have increased considerably.
Due to the strict stance of the country's border security force (BGB), people are still being pushed into the zero line of various border areas. They have not been able to enter the country illegally. However, the BGB has increased its activities so that the BSSF cannot push them in again.
The BGB says that if someone is a Bangladeshi citizen, they should be returned according to the law instead of being pushed across the border illegally. The matter will be decided by the state to state. However, the BSF is violating human rights by pushing them across the border illegally without going through that legal process.
The BGB said that after the BJP government came to power in West Bengal, there has been an increase in push-ins along the West Bengal and Meghalaya borders. However, the Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB) has strengthened patrolling and surveillance at the Sylhet border to prevent push-ins and border crimes. The BGB has formed a strong resistance group with the public to prevent illegal push-ins from India.
The Sylhet Battalion of BGB said that in addition to strengthening patrolling and surveillance at the border to prevent illegal push-ins from India, public awareness campaigns, standby duty at identified points, strengthening own and civilian intelligence surveillance, miking, public relations and exchange of views with local public representatives and the public are being conducted. Public representatives and local people have been involved in push-in prevention activities. In addition, the public is being encouraged to quickly provide information to the BGB about suspicious persons or activities in the border areas. Continuous awareness activities are continuing to ensure the active participation of people from all walks of life in ensuring border security.
Colonel Nazmul Haque, commander of 48 BGB, said that the BGB's initiative to maintain peace and order at the border, prevent illegal infiltration, and protect the country's sovereignty has received a huge positive response from the local people.
