BB hikes cash withdrawal limit to Tk5 lakh

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) has increased the cash withdrawal limit from banks to Tk5 lakh per account, up from Tk4 lakh in the previous week.
The central bank sent this instruction to the banks on Saturday night, citing ‘security reasons’.
The BB also instructed commercial banks to monitor cheque transactions closely and block any suspicious fund transfers.
The regulatory body has issued such instructions for several weeks in the situation of government change in the country.
