Three MP candidates are contesting from the same village in the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections in Barguna -2 seat ( Betagi -Barguna -Patharghata)

All of their homes are in Kismat Karunagram of Betagi Sadar Union of Betagi Upazila.

According to election office sources, these three from the Barguna-2 constituency are BNM's Dr. Abdur Rahman Khokon, Abu Bakar Siddique from Bangladesh Supreme Party and Rafiqul Islam as independent candidates.

But independent candidate Rafiqul Islam's nomination paper was canceled due to mismatch in the signatures of the voters submitted in the nomination paper.

Nomination papers were scrutinized in the Golden Jubilee Hall room of Barguna Deputy Commissioner on Sunday afternoon.

District Returning Officer and Barguna DC Md. Rafiqul Islam canceled the nomination paper.

Among the candidates, both of them are candidates for the post of parliamentarians for the first time and Professor Dr. Abdur Rahman Khokon was also a Member of Parliament before this.

Meanwhile, the District Returning Officer canceled the nomination papers of 3 candidates in Barguna-2 seat in the 12th National Assembly elections.

Scrutiny of nomination papers started and ended at Barguna District Commissioner's Golden Jubilee Hall room at 11 am on Sunday.

After the scrutiny of the nomination papers , the nomination papers of Jatiya Party nominated candidate Mizanur Rahman in Barguna-2 (Betagi-Bamna-Patharghata) constituency were canceled due to debt default.

If two candidates nominated by Bangladesh Congress submit nominations, one candidate can be nominated according to the decision of the party.

The nomination of a person named Razzak was cancelled. Apart from this, independent candidate Rafiqul Islam's nomination paper was also canceled due to mismatch in the signatures submitted by the voters.

Returning Officer and Barguna Deputy Commissioner Moha. Rafiqul Islam said, we have canceled the nomination papers of 3 candidates in this seat. Candidates have an opportunity to appeal against this decision.

According to the office of the Returning Officer , the appeal and hearing against the decision of the Returning Officer will be held on December 6-15 after the selection of the nomination papers as per the schedule announced by the Election Commission.
