A Bangladeshi man was injured in a BSF firing at the Batuli border of Fultala Union in juri upazila of Moulvibazar in Thursday.

Locals, including Indian media, confirmed the incident on Thursday morning.

The injured have been identified as Seful Mia, 40, son of Samser Ali of Madhya Batuli village under Fultala union of the upazila.

According to local sources, several people, including Seful Mia, son of Samser Ali of Madhya Batuli village in Fultala union of the upazila, went near the barbed wire fence of Indian border on Thursday night to fetch cows. The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire on the cows early in the night while they were cutting the barbed wire fence.

Seful Mia was injured in the BSF firing. Seful Mia's companions left him at the border and fled to Bangladesh. Border Security Force BSF arrested Seful Mia and took him away. He was later injured and handed over to Dharmanagar police. A source confirmed that Seful Mia is currently undergoing treatment at Dharmanagar Hospital in police custody.

Fultala UP member Imtiaz Gafur Maruf confirmed the matter, saying the BSF had warned the BGB several times before. He was later forced to shoot. He was pronounced dead at night and was rushed to a local hospital.

In this regard, Fultala UP Chairman Masuk Ahmed said, "I have received information that Indian Border Security Force (BSF) was injured in a BSF firing at the Seful Mia border in the village of Batuli in the middle of Fultala Union."

Juri Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sanjay Chakraborty has confirmed that a man was injured in a BSF firing at Batuli village in Fultala union of the upazila.

The representatives tried to contact Fultala BGB Camp Commander (01769613573) on their mobile phone but did not answer.
