
Bangladesh needs peace, says Dr Yunus seeking foreign friends support to build unity

"Peace in Bangladesh is extremely important. We need to keep it in mind always. We want peace in the country. We want peace for the nation and we want peace for the whole world," he said.
The Chief Adviser made the remarks at a function held at the Chief Adviser's Office (CAO) in Tejgaon where he exchanged Eid greetings with dignitaries.
Advisers, chiefs of three services, politocal leaders, diplomats, members of National Consensus Commission, civil society members and journalists were present.
Dr Yunus urged the people to bear the message of Eid-ul-Fitr in mind to move the nation forward and establish peace in the country.
“This year’s Eid is very important so that we get closer to each other and minimise our distance, make the nation and society united. Because, getting united this time is crucial and that should be achieved,” he said.
Dr Yunus laid emphasis on showing tolerance to each other and build friendly relations with each other.
Later, addressing the diplomats briefly in English, the Chief Adviser said this is a day of unifying the nation and unifying the people so that they can overcome all distances and differences and build the unity among all.
He said the nation needs that unity, particularly at this moment it is very important.
"I hope you will help us build this unity and move forward. Bangladesh deserves more," Dr Yunus said.
The Chief Adviser said Bangladesh has a bright future which has not been explored. "We want to explore that. We want to make that future comes true. That is where it begins unifying and building the nation to move forward. Let's do that.
