Bangladesh Coast Guard's 30th founding anniv to be celebrated with great enthusiasm on Feb 17

The 30th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Coast Guard will be celebrated with due dignity and formality at the Coast Guard Headquarters in Agargaon on Monday ( February 17).

The chief guest will be Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Home Affairs Adviser to the Interim Government. The special guests will be Md. Khoda Baksh Chowdhury, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser (Ministry of Home Affairs) and Mr. Nasimul Gani, Senior Secretary, Public Security Division, Ministry of Home Affairs.

In addition, Chief of the Navy Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hasan, OSP, NPP, ndc, NCC, psc, will be present at the event.

In addition, the invited guests will include advisors of various ministries, diplomatic personnel, military and civilian guests. At the event, the Honorable Home Affairs Advisor will award Bangladesh Coast Guard Medal to 10 people, Bangladesh Coast Guard (Service) Medal to 10 people, President Coast Guard Medal to 10 people and President Coast Guard (Service) Medal to 10 people, a total of 40 people, for their bravery and courageous work of Bangladesh Coast Guard officers, sailors and civilians.

Bangladesh Coast Guard was established in 1994 with the motto 'Guardian at Sea' to provide economic and overall security to the 19 coastal areas of Bangladesh and the adjacent riverine areas and the vast sea area of 1 lakh 18 thousand 813 square kilometers of the Bay of Bengal and the journey of Bangladesh Coast Guard started on February 14, 1995. Bangladesh Coast Guard has become a trusted symbol of security and trust among the people of the country by ensuring law and order in the country's maritime borders and coastal areas, protecting people's lives and property, suppressing smuggling, drugs and human trafficking, as well as providing relief and assistance in various natural disasters. In addition, with the relentless efforts of the Coast Guard, Chittagong Port has now become a safe port from the list of risky ports. The notable achievements of Bangladesh Coast Guard in 2024 are as follows:
