
Bangladesh's only rare plant 'African teak' dies

The only rare plant in the country, the African teak oak, stood as a witness of time at the main entrance of Lauachhara National Park in Kamalganj Upazila of Moulvibazar. Among the 167 species of plants in Lauachara National Park, the African teak is one of the species of plants. Confirming the fact that the African plant has died, the Divisional Forest Officer of Moulvibazar Department of Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation said, "Lauachahra".
