Bangabandhu great hero of Bangladesh development: Zaheed Farooque

State Minister for Water Resources Zaheed Farooque MP said, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the undisputed leader of Bangladesh, realized that war against the Pakistanis was inevitable as early as March 1971 due to his visionary leadership. So he ordered the people of Bangladesh to join the liberation war on March 7, 1971. We went to war on his call. We fought in his name. He is the hero of independent Bangladesh development.

Bangabandhu and Bangladesh are inseparable. Bangladesh cannot be imagined without Bangabandhu. Bangabandhu, Bengali race and Bangladesh are synonymous. He is the symbol of our freedom. direction of liberation State Minister for Water Resources Zahid Farooq, MP said.

He said this after inaugurating the mural of the Father of the Nation at the Pani Bhavan premises of the capital. He further said in the discussion meeting on "Historical leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the development of the country" in the meeting room of the Pani Bhavan, the main objective of the freedom war was to gain independence.

To establish a state where the basic and just rights of people are guaranteed, to end exploitation, discrimination and injustice and to create a happy and prosperous society free from hunger and poverty.

State Minister Zaheed Farooque said, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was always committed to flood control, drainage and development of irrigation facilities. He dreamed of a happy and prosperous Bangladesh. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman established the Bangladesh Water Development Board in 1972 with the dream of combating poverty and famine in the short term and securing the life, livelihood and investment of every inch of land in the country through sound and sustainable management and development of water.

Bangladesh Water Development Board as the main organization in water resource management of the country has been successfully operating for the last 50 years. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman during his prison days in the 60s also thought about the proper use of rivers and water resources of this country which can be seen in his book "Prison Diary".

He also said that following the path shown by Bangabandhu, the development of Bangladesh by his privileged daughter Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the last 15 years cannot be said. As a result, Bangladesh has taken a place of honor in the world. Bangladesh, which was once known to the whole world as a poor, failed state of terrorism and militancy, has been brought to light by Sheikh Hasina. To fulfill the dream of the Father of the Nation, the Honorable Prime Minister said, "Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100 is the plan to move Bangladesh forward in the next 100 years. The way we want to build Bangladesh in the year 2100, the Delta Plan has been formulated. Bangabandhu's daughter gave contemporary and visionary plans like Bangladesh Delta Plan-2100, which is the best gift from the present generation to the future generations.

Nazmul Ahsan, Secretary Ministry of Water Resources presided over the meeting . Kabir bin Anwar, former Cabinet Secretary, spoke as a special guest. Director General of Water Development Board Muhammad Amirul Haque Bhua delivered the welcome address on the occasion. Md. Akhtaruzzaman-Director General Bangladesh Water and Wetland Development Directorate and Md. Rezaul Maqchud Zahedi, Director General - Water Resources Planning Agency also spoke.
