A mini marathon was held in memory of the martyrs on the occasion of July Uprising Day in Bagerhat. Organized by the District Administration and Youth Development Department.
The marathon was inaugurated by DC Ahmed Kamrul Hasan at the Bagerhat Daratana Bridge Toll Plaza on Friday morning.
After the inauguration, the participants of the marathon ran through the city defense embankment and came to Swadhinata Udyan in front of the Shaheed Minar. Later, medals and prizes were officially distributed among the first to tenth place winners in the marathon at Swadhinata Udyan.
Bagerhat ADC Md. Ariful Islam presided over the prize distribution ceremony, while DC Ahmed Kamrul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md. Shamim Hossain, former president of Bagerhat District BNP MA Salam, Deputy Director of Bagerhat Youth Development Department Abdul Quader, District Sports Officer Hussain Ahmed, Convener of Bagerhat District Anti-Discrimination Student Movement SM Saddam Hossain and more than a hundred competitors were present.
