 For the purpose of farmers and agricultural development, the demand for the appointment of BADC fertilizer dealers in all upazilas of Khagrachari district like the whole country and protesting against the obstruction of the process of registering existing BADC seed dealers as fertilizer dealers by the district BF presidents and members and demanding to stop illegal fertilizer syndicate, single-handedness, and monopoly system by registering existing BADC seed dealers as fertilizer dealers.

General Secretary of the District BADC Seed Dealer Committee, Md. Jasim Uddin, read out a written statement at the press conference held at the Manikchhari Press Club auditorium on at 4-30 pm on Friday 

In his written statement, he said, "BADC seed dealers of all upazilas of Khagrachari applied to the General Manager (Fertilizer Management) of BADC to get registered as fertilizer dealers. The General Manager took note of these applications and sent them to the Deputy Director of the district for further action. Later, when these applications were presented in the District Fertilizer Seed Monitoring Committee meeting, BF President SM Jahangir Alam and other members present at the meeting tried to stop this appointment. They were unsuccessful. Later, when the Deputy Commissioner sent these applications to their respective upazilas for further verification and verification, it was decided in the verification committee meeting that there is no need for BADC fertilizer dealers in Manikchari. Since no BADC member was present in that meeting, we could not express our opinion.

 Although this upazila BADC has no dealers, we want to know through the concerned authorities why there is no need for dealers or in whose interest the appointment of BADC dealers is being blocked. Finally, I would like to request the Deputy Commissioner to approve the application of BADC seed dealers by taking the three necessary measures."  Other officials of the BADC Seed Dealers Committee were present at the time.
