 Even though 17 days have passed since autorickshaw driver Md. Ramjan Ali (32) went missing in Madhabadi, Narsingdi, no trace of him has been found. The family is spending their days in extreme panic and helplessness over the incident. Ramjan Ali's family organized a press conference yesterday morning demanding his speedy rescue and alleging inaction by the administration.

At a press conference held at his home in Madhabdi's Rainadi area on Tuesday , Ramzan Ali's family members, including his wife, children, elder brother and elderly parents, broke down in tears. They sought the administration's intervention to bring back the missing Ramzan alive.

Ramzan Ali's mother, in a tearful voice, said, "On the night of June 21, my son was taken away by a rented autorickshaw. Since then, his mobile phone has been switched off and there is no trace of him. My heart will be cold if I get my son back."

Ramzan Ali's elder brother, who was present at the press conference, said, "The day after the incident, on June 22, we filed a complaint with Madhabadi police station, but even after 15 days, no effective action has been taken by the police or the administration. We have repeatedly contacted the police station but are not getting any good response."

Ramzan Ali's sister said, "I want my brother back, dead or alive."

The banner raised by the family read, "Find Md. Ramzan Ali quickly, arrest the fugitive suspect, provide legal assistance to the family" and "The value of a human life should not be forgotten in the state."

This helpless family has made a heartfelt appeal to the government and people of all walks of life to get their only support back. The cries of Ramzan Ali's wife holding his baby in her arms touched the hearts of those present. They strongly demanded the administration to rescue Ramzan Ali and return him to his family as soon as possible.
