Allegations of attack and vandalism on the family members of the brave freedom fighter have been received in Gafargaon, Mymensingh.

On the afternoon of February 21, neighbors Anand, Sadhan and Swapan Chandra attacked and vandalized the house of brave freedom fighter Chinu Rani Das of Charmachaland village of Charalgi Union. Chinu Rani Das' son Sumanta Das (35) and his wife Sufla Das (32) were seriously injured in the attack. When they came to save them, their son Joy Chandra Das was brutally beaten and injured. During this time, the opponents entered their home and vandalized the furniture.

Later, with the help of locals, they were rescued and admitted to the Upazila Health Complex. On February 21, when the opponents came to the health complex and threatened them, Chinu Rani's son Sumanta Das hid.

Later, his younger son Hemant Das found him on February 22 and admitted him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Brave freedom fighter Abu Sayeed, a resident of Char Algi Union, condemned the incident. He said, we demand exemplary punishment for the culprits who attacked the freedom fighter's family. They should be arrested and brought to justice.

Brave freedom fighter Chinu Rani Das said, we are scared about the attack, the criminals are pressuring us over mobile phones not to file a case. They come to our house and beat us. I am drawing the attention of the administration in this regard.

Chinu Rani's son Hemant Das said, they destroyed the crops in our fields by riding cows and goats. They have tried to harm us in the past too.

That day, they suddenly took a country-made weapon and hacked my elder brother and his wife.

We demand punishment for those involved in this incident. A complaint has been filed with the police station against those involved.

Gafargaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shibirul Islam said, "The matter will be investigated and further legal action will be taken."
