Asif Mahmud asks govt officers to ensure transparency in public works

Adviser of Local Government Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has asked the government officers to remain cautious about corruption and ensure transparency and accountability in public works.
"Services have to reach at the people's doorstep quickly in an effective way by enhancing dynamism in public works," he said in a meeting held at Local Government Division at Secretariat here.
The adviser has asked all the government officers to work neutrally going beyond political influence to implement the expectation of the July-August mass uprising.
He has also stressed the need for reallocation of the budget by giving importance on the comparatively deprived areas through discussions with the concerned stakeholders.
The Adviser said they would soon initiate the recruitment process for the vacant posts in the Local Government Division.
Local Government Division Secretary (routine duty) Md Nazrul Islam presided over the meeting.
The meeting discussed various issues that include progress and implementation of the decisions taken in the last meeting, project monitoring and evaluation works, dispose of the allegations and Dengue control programmes.
