ASI killed in M'singh road accident

An assistant sub-inspector was killed in a road accident at Nandail upazila in Mymensingh district on Saturday morning.
The accident took place at around 11am in Bahadurpur area under the upazila.
The deceased was Nur Ahmed, 45, son of Hafizur Rahman, a resident of Pulihati village under Madan upazila in Netrokona district. He was an Assistant sub-inspector of Nandail Police Station.
Nandail Police Station officer-in-charge Md Abdul Mazid said Nur Ahmed was going to Char Betagoir area, riding on his motorcycle. On the way, he rammed into a microbus from opposite direction in Bahadurpur area in the morning. He died on the spot.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the spot and seized the both vehicles, however, the micro-bus driver managed to escape from the scene, he said.
Legal action would be taken in this regard, added the OC.
