Arrest warrant issued against owner of ‘unauthorised’ Blu electrolyte drink

A Dhaka court on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against social media influencer Iftekhar Rafsan for producing and selling drinks ‘Lemon Rich Blu Electrolyte Drink’.
Special metropolitan magistrate of the Pure Food Court at Nagar Bhaban at Fulbaria in the capital Alaul Akbar issued the arrest warrant.
Food inspector of Dhaka South City Corporation Kamrul Hasan filed a case stating that the company has no authorisation from Bangladesh Standard Testing Institute or Directorate General of Drug Administration for producing and marketing the product.
Kamrul also said that the company has been running different kinds of misleading advertisements for the product which was the cleaner violation of the Bangladesh Food Safety Act.
Earlier, the court imposed a fine on the owner of several electrolyte drink companies including Active+, Turbo and Bruvana electrolyte drinks.
