Army conducts healthcare training for mothers, newborns in remote CHT

Under the motto "Samare o Shantite Rakhibo Sustho" (Keeping healthy in war and peace), the Bangladesh Army organized a specialized training program to ensure primary healthcare services for pregnant women, new mothers, and newborns in remote and inaccessible hilly areas of Bandarban.
The closing and certificate distribution ceremony of the training program on maternal and child health protection and first aid was held on Thursday morning at the conference room of the 7 Field Ambulance, under the management of the 69 Infantry Brigade and direction of the 7 Field Ambulance.
The training covered theoretical and practical sessions on identifying pregnancy risks and danger signs, providing basic delivery assistance, newborn care, breastfeeding, immunization, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), cannula insertion, health counseling, and family planning. Trainees were also instructed on emergency patient referral protocols to ensure swift transfer to advanced medical facilities during critical situations.
Brigadier General Mohammad Ariful Islam, Region Commander of the 69 Infantry Brigade, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
Among others present were Bandarban Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Shaheen Hossain Chowdhury, Commanding Officer of 7 Field Ambulance Lieutenant Colonel Sarfaraz, alongside military personnel, physicians, healthcare trainers, and participants.
Speakers noted that due to the difficult geographical terrain of remote hill areas, delivering prompt emergency medical care remains a constant challenge.
