The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) observed the historic National Revolution and Solidarity Day with due solemnity and formal ceremonies across all its administrative units on Saturday.
The day-long programs commenced at sunrise across the force's headquarters, range offices, and district headquarters nationwide with the official hoisting of the national flag in accordance with flag protocols. The flag-raising ceremonies were attended by officers, staff, and personnel of various ranks.
Following the flag hoisting, official messages delivered by Honorable President and Honorable Prime Minister on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day were read out to the personnel. The readings highlighted the historical background, national significance, and contemporary relevance of November 7, 1975.
Speaking on the context of the day, officials noted that November 7 remains a critical chapter in Bangladesh's national history. Amid the political instability and national uncertainty of 1975, the sepoy-people uprising led to the release of the then Chief of Army Staff Major General Ziaur Rahman, paving the way for political and administrative stability, the restoration of state operations, the reintroduction of multi-party democracy, and a return to electoral governance under his leadership.
Ansar-VDP administration stated that the nationwide observance reinforced patriotism, national unity, solidarity, and the commitment to public service among all ranks of the force, reflecting institutional coordination from the central headquarters down to field-level offices.
