The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) observed National Revolution and Solidarity Day with due solemnity and enthusiasm across its central headquarters and nationwide units on Saturday, focusing on the core principles of national unity, patriotism, state sovereignty, and democratic values.

The central commemoration at the Ansar-VDP Headquarters featured the ceremonial hoisting of the national flag, reading of official messages from the President and  Prime Minister in a  Darbar and  special Dua Mahfil. 

Addressing the assembly as the chief guest, Director General Major General Md. Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud elaborated on the historical significance of November 7 in the nation's political evolution, outlining the force's ongoing development initiatives, personnel welfare programs, and future strategic directives.

Recalling the political landscape of 1975, the Director General noted that the historic sepoy-people uprising emerged from a critical juncture of regional, international, and domestic uncertainty following independence to safeguard national sovereignty. He stated that the spirit of national unity fostered under the leadership of late President Ziaur Rahman serves as an enduring guide to overcoming national crises through collective trust and cooperation. 

Highlighting the organizational roots of the force, the Director General said, martyr  President Ziaur Rahman’s "People's Warfare Doctrine," represents a vital framework for participatory public defense and grassroots social development. Today, nearly 6 million Ansar-VDP members contribute across urban and rural sectors to public safety, disaster management, humanitarian assistance, and socioeconomic transformation

Detailing institutional advancements, the Director General noted that the force is continuously expanding its professional training standards, technological integration, and domestic-international deployment opportunities, which generate employment abroad and enhance member capabilities. He paid deep tribute to late President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, acknowledging the visionary establishment and institutional growth of the Ansar-VDP Development Bank, which remains instrumental in fostering financial self-reliance and entrepreneurship among VDP members.

Urging all personnel to embrace the spirit of November 7 alongside the Prime Minister's resolve of "Bangladesh First," the Director General instructed members to prioritize national interest, public safety, and welfare above all else. 

The program was attended by Additional Director General Brigadier General Mamunur Rashid, alongside senior headquarters officials and members of the force of various ranks.
