Ansar personnrl extinguish truck fire at N'ganj Food Depot, rescued sleeping driver, helper

Vigilant members of the Bangladesh Ansar successfully rescued a sleeping driver and his helper while extinguishing a blaze that broke out aboard a wheat-laden truck at the Central Food Depot in Port Upazila of Narayanganj on Tuesday.
The incident occurred when a fire, reportedly ignited by a mosquito coil, suddenly erupted aboard the stationary transport truck carrying government wheat supplies. The vehicle's driver and helper were fast asleep in the cabin at the time of the outbreak.
Duty Ansar guards Shaheen and Faridul spotted smoke emanating from the vehicle and immediately alerted their Section Commander (PC) and Assistant Section Commander (APC).
A 12-member Ansar team, led by PC Johar Ali and APC Nurul Alam, rushed to the scene and extracted the trapped driver and helper unharmed from the burning vehicle. Following the rescue, the team initiated firefighting measures, bringing the blaze fully under control within 20 minutes before it could spread to adjacent grain storage warehouses or other parked vehicles.
Although the transport truck sustained partial damages, no casualties or loss of grain stocks were reported. Local administration and police officials commended the Ansar personnel for their prompt response, courage, and decisive action in preventing a major tragedy.
