Chairman candidate Badiuzzaman Fakir has accused the Member of Parliament of Sirajganj-5 seat for influencing the upazila election to be held on May 8.

He also alleged that the two brothers of the MP are directly running the campaign by making the GM (Operation) Mohammad Aminul Islam Sarkar the chairman of the Belkuchi Upazila Parishad election, a member of the industrial group owned by the MP.

Under that influence, their candidate Aminul Islam Sarkar established a reign of terror and started threats, attacks and beatings. Badiuzzaman Fakir also alleged that if he takes refuge in the police station to avoid beatings, he is also attacked there.

Chairman candidate Badiuzzaman Fakir made such a complaint in a press conference at Belkuchi Press Club on Thursday (May 2) afternoon.Badi Fakir is contesting the elections with the motorcycle symbol.He is also serving as Finance Secretary of Enayetpur Thana Awami League of Belkuchi Upazila.

Chairman candidate Badiuzzaman Fakir said that the upazila parishad election was supposed to be held in a festive atmosphere in a democratic state system.This is happening in different parts of the country.I also personally expected that Belkuchi Upazila Parishad elections will be held in a festive atmosphere.But reality has brought me to you in a different situation today.

He said, today the reign of terror has been established in Belkuchi upazila based on the upazila parishad elections. No one is safe today except local MP Abdul Momin Mondal, GM (Operation) of Belkuchi Upazila Parishad election chairman candidate Mohammad Aminul Islam Sarkar, his terrorist forces and workers-supporters in the election field. I am contesting for the post of chairman in this election with the motorcycle symbol. At every stage of the election campaign, I have to face threats, intimidation, attacks, assaults, vandalism.

He said, I was on my way home after the road meeting of Shahapur DSS School yesterday (May 1) at around 10:30 pm when I reached Chala Satrasta intersection in Belkuchi municipal area and reached in front of Belkuchi Union Parishad.His terrorists carried out this attack in the presence and instructions of rival candidate Aminul Islam.I was injured along with five other workers-supporters. Aminul Islam controlled me in various ways by threatening to cause a flood of blood in Belkuchi. Abu Taleb, a member of Aminul Islam's terrorist group, physically assaulted me. Being injured, I and my workers took shelter at Belkuchi Police Station for immediate relief, and there was also an attack.You will find the truth of my words when you see the CCTV camera footage of Belkuchi police station.

Badiuzzaman Fakir said, "My workers who went to put up posters at Ajugra intersection were injured by sharp weapons."My election office was vandalized in Jamoil Bazar.These incidents are being done with the direct support and instructions of the other chairman candidate Aminul Islam.

Badi Fakir said, there is an instruction that members of parliament will not interfere in the ongoing upazila elections, and will not favor any candidate.But this directive is not being followed in Belkuchi.The MP's family has become desperate to install their company's employee in the upazila chairman's chair. Trying to convert Belkuchi into their own company model.Awami of Belkuchi is walking on the path of writing the grave of politics by making the salaried officer of their own company as the upazila chairman.

Abdul Alim Mandal and Zubair Mandal, the brother of the member of parliament, personal assistant Salim Ratdin are campaigning for Aminul Islam with meetings and gatherings. Publicly announcing him as MP's preferred candidate.Pressure is being applied by activists and various public representatives.If the MP's two brothers and assistants enter the election field, it proves that the MP has taken the side of a candidate and is doing so at his behest.Aminul Islam and his terrorist forces have become more reckless as the two brothers of the parliamentarian set foot in Belkuchi.

He said to the reporters, I am drawing the attention of the Prime Minister and the Election Commission.There is no option for the two brothers of parliament to leave Belkuchi to complete the upazila election of Belkuchi in a fair and impartial manner.By using the rules of the Election Commission and the guidelines of the Bangladesh Awami League as a political party, these two people are basically trying to influence the election by representing the members of Parliament.I call on the Election Commission, Returning Officer, District and Upazila Election Officers to take necessary strict measures to complete the Upazila Parishad elections in a free and impartial manner, including taking necessary measures against them.

Upazila Chairman candidate Aminul Islam Sarkar and local parliament member Abdul Momin Mandal were called multiple times to talk about this, but they did not receive the calls.

In this regard, Belkuchi Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md.Anichur Rahman said that during the campaigning on Wednesday night, there was a fight between the workers and supporters of the two candidates.Then Badiuzzaman Fakir came to police station. Aminul's activists and supporters also came to the police station after a while.Then a chaotic environment is created here.In this incident, a case has been filed by the police on the charge of obstructing the work of the police and destroying the atmosphere of the police station by intruding into the police station late at night.In the case, 22 people have been named and 18-20 unknown people have been accused. Attempts are being made to arrest the accused after seeing the video footage of the police station. Both parties also filed counter-complaints. Complaints are being scrutinized and action is being taken.'
