All the villages of Brahmanpara are flooded People of Burichong and Brahmanpara two upazilas are running around for some shelter. Thousands of people have taken refuge in relatives, high-rise buildings or school, college shelters for a little shelter due to waterlogging of roads and houses. Burichong and Brahmanpara upazilas have broken the dam of Gomti river and water is entering the localities on the other hand due to the breach of the Salda river dam and water entering through various canals upstream, all the villages of Burichong and Brahmanpara upazilas have been submerged in water.

It was seen on the ground yesterday, Brahmanpara upazila's Naighar, Bagra, Manra, Dhanyadaul, Baradushia, Kalamuria, Nagaish, Chandla, Sajghar, Deus, Choubbas, Charer Pathar, Mandbagh, Karimpur, Ghazaria, Ramchandrapur, Tatera, Chatiani in every village of the upazila. In some places knee-deep water, in some houses waist-deep water. The water-bound people are leaving their houses individually, men and women, taking their clothes and going to safe shelters. Many are seen bringing their essential items and cattle, cows, goats, and chickens.

Hundreds of fish ponds and chicken farms in two upazilas were washed away. Water is rising in the locality. Cumilla -Mirpur road from Bharsar Bazar to Tatera is under 3/4 feet of water. All Brahmanpara vehicles are plying on Brahmanpara-Mirpur road. At least half a thousand people have taken shelter in various houses and shelters as of writing the airport yesterday afternoon.

Meanwhile, they were seen distributing water purification tablets, dry food and khichuri on behalf of various forces and organizations. The Bangladesh Army is working to rescue the helpless people of the flood-hit villages. Various voluntary organizations including fire service, Red Crescent, upazila administration, police, public representatives, anti-discrimination student organizations have extended their support to help them.

They extended their helping hand to the victims with dry food, khichuri, medical supplies, water purification tablets along with rescue operations. Adequate dry food, water purification tablets and medicine are being distributed by the upazila administration to the flood affected people. All the vulnerable people are requested to take safe shelter in the nearest shelters (all educational institutions are ready as shelters).Besides, some voluntary organizations are working for flood affected people.
