AL leader shot dead in Pabna

An Awami League leader was shot to death by miscreants in Pabna's Sadar upazila on Saturday night.
The incident happened around10:00 pm in the Naldah Natun Para area uncer Varara union in the upazila.
The victim was identified as Babu Sheikh alias Dak Babu, son of late Ajahar Sheikh, former AL president of ward no 9 of Giyeshpur Union in the upazila.
It was learnt that some unidentified miscreants shot Babu when he was having tea at Jamal Sheikh's shop in the area. Suddenly, some, leaving him critically injured.
He was rescued and taken to Pabna General Hospital, where he was declared dead by on-duty doctors.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Pabna General Hospital for autopsy, said Roshan Ali, officer in-charge of Pabna Sadar Police Station.
