He is also locally known as a close associate of former Gaibandha-4 (Gobindaganj) constituency lawmaker Abul Kalam Azad.
Police said Majnu Sarker had been hiding in a paddy field in a border area to evade law enforcement agencies. Acting on a tip-off, a DB police team conducted an operation at the location and arrested him.
OC of Gaibandha District Detective Branch, Abdul Mottalib Sarker, confirmed the arrest on Friday afternoon. He said Majnu Sarker was arrested while hiding in the paddy field following a tip-off.
