The Bangladesh Army has arrested Abdul Latif, former president of Ward No. 6 Awami League of Kaikuri Union in Pirgachha, Rangpur.
He was arrested from the Okrabari More area of the upazila at 2 pm on Wednesday and handed over to the police station. Abdul Latif is the son of Lutfar Rahman of Makrampur village in Kaikuri Union.
It is learnt that there are several cases against him. After his arrest, a search of his personal mobile phone revealed evidence of his involvement in anti-state activities.
In this regard, Pirgachha Police Station SI Shafiqul Islam Akand said that the arrested Abdul Latif is currently in the police station.
There are several cases against him. Legal proceedings are underway regarding those cases. After the legal proceedings, he will be sent to the learned court.
