AL holds peace rally in Rupganj protesting BNP-Jamaat anarchy

The leaders and activists of Rupganj Upazila unit Awami League held a peace rally in Narayanganj protesting BNP-Jamaat’s indulgence in resorting to the acts of arson attacks in the name of anti-government movement.
The rally was staged under the leadership of Rupganj Upazila Parishad Chairman Md Shahjahan Bhuiyan, who is a nomination seeker for ‘boat’ electoral symbol of Awami League, in Lalmati area on Asian Highway of the upazila on Wednesday.
Among others, Kanchan Municipal Mayor Rafiqul Islam, Daudpur Union Parishad Chairman Nurul Islam Jahangir, Upazila Awami League leaders Mashiur Rahman Tarek, Obaidul Majid Jewel, Riton Pradhan, Aminul Haque Khokon, Chhatra League leader Ashiqul Islam Khokon also participated in the rally.
While addressing the rally, Shahjahan Bhuiyan said Awami League has been preparing for the election since the announcement of the schedule.
But, the BNP-Jamaat clique is engaged in hatching a plot to foil the election by conducting sabotage in the name of a blockade programme.
Their dreams will never come true. The leaders and activists of Awami League and its front and associated bodies are always ready to resist them on the street, he warned.
