'True liberation will come only when personal life, state life conducted in light of Islam '
In the inaugural sermon of the Agrahayan Mahfil, Pir Saheb of Charmonai said this on Wednesday after the Zuhr prayer, the activities of the Mahfil officially began.
He said that Allah has sent human beings to this world with specific responsibilities and duties. The world is a place of trial to see whether humans fulfil those responsibilities or not. Human success or failure depends on passing this test.
He said that the Charmonai Mahfil has no worldly objective; rather, all activities of this Tariqa are meant to make people aware of the duties given by Allah. The sole purpose of this Mahfil is to connect those who are heedless of Allah back to Him.
Pir Saheb Charmonai warned that there is no need to come here for worldly purposes. If anyone has come with such intentions, he should change his intention and prepare for self-purification. Remember, the attraction of the worldly life is the root of all wrongdoing.
In the inaugural session of Charmonai’s annual two Mahfils—held on the main ground of Charmonai Madrasa and an adjacent field—Pir Saheb Charmonai further said that newcomers should remove worldly thoughts and fill their hearts with thoughts of the Hereafter. They should remove pride and ego from the heart and devote themselves to the path shown by Allah. By keeping the heart alive with constant dhikr, one must prepare to leave Charmonai as a friend of Allah.
After the inaugural sermon, Pir Saheb Charmonai explained in detail the rules and regulations of the Mahfil.
Starting from 8 a.m. today, thousands of attendees were divided into groups and given practical training on Salah and basic Islamic teachings. This will continue for all three days of the Mahfil.
For primary medical care of attendees, a 100-bed permanent Mahfil hospital has been set up. A team of 13 specialist doctors and 40 additional doctors are providing services. Ten ambulances and two boat ambulances are assigned to the hospital. Special volunteer teams are present to take any sick person from the field to the hospital immediately.
A large volunteer force has been deployed in two fields to maintain discipline. The special security team of Bangladesh Mujahid Committee is responsible for security. There is a Lost & Found camp in each field for lost persons or belongings.
For attendees from across the country, there are safe drinking water facilities around the fields along with thousands of standard toilets, and arrangements for ablution and bathing.
On the first day of this three-day grand Mahfil, a representative conference was held under the Bangladesh Quran Education Board. On the second day, an Ulema Conference will be held with scholars from across the country. On the final morning, there will be a mass gathering of students and general attendees. Additionally, special meetings will be held for youth and labourers organized by Islami Jubo Andolon Bangladesh and Islami Shramik Andolon Bangladesh.
On Saturday at 8:30 a.m, he three-day Mahfil will conclude with the final sermon of Pir Saheb Charmonai.
It is noteworthy that Charmonai Madrasa was established in 1924 AD. The founder of the Charmonai Mahfil and Darbar was Maulana Syed Ishaq (Rah.). After his death, in 1777, Maulana Syed Fazlul Karim (Rah.) took charge. After his death in 2006, Alhaz Maulana Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim (Pir Saheb Charmonai) has been serving as Amirul Mujahideen till now.
