Deputy Minister of Water Resources and former organizing secretary of Awami League AKM Enamul Haque Shamim has received party nomination of Awami League from Shariatpur-2 (Naria-Sakhipur) constituency for the second time. His income and immovable property have decreased in the last 5 years.

Before becoming a Member of Parliament, he owned a (land) house or apartment worth Tk 34 lakh 47 thousand but currently, that land no longer exists. He has sold it. He also has a loan of Tk 33 lakh 66 thousand 962 for the car. This information was obtained from the affidavit submitted along with the nomination papers for the 12th National Assembly elections.

According to the affidavit, Enamul Haque Shamim is a politician by profession. He is the owner of a business company, the founder-chairman of a private university and the independent director of a private bank. Now he is no longer in these positions. Therefore, in the last five years, the immovable property of Enamul Haque Shamim, his wife and dependents has decreased by more than half a crore of taka .

The annual income of Enamul Haque Shamim was over Tk. 18. 34 lakh but now his annual income is 18 lakh 34 thousand 978 taka. In five years, his annual income has decreased by 4 lakh 93 thousand 169 taka. Five years ago, the annual income of his dependents was 1 lakh 93 thousand 293 taka.

At present, the annual income of dependents is 68 thousand 34 taka. 1 lakh 25 thousand 259 taka .

The annual income of Enamul Haque Shamim and his dependents was Tk 25 lakh 21 thousand 440 in the 11th national parliament election. Annual total income of Enamul Haque Shamim, his wife and dependents has decreased by Tk 6 lakh 18 thousand 428.

18 lakh 34 thousand 978 taka of his annual income mentioned in the affidavit of the 12th national parliament election, he paid 5 lakh 22 thousand 720 taka for house, apartment and shop rent; His income is 2 lakh 74 thousand 258 taka from shares, savings and bank deposits and 10 lakh 38 thousand taka from employment.

Enamul Haque Shamim's annual income was Tk 23 lakh 28 thousand 147 in the affidavit of 11th National Parliament He earns 755,000 annually from the business sector. He used to earn 1 lakh 12 thousand 647 taka from shares, savings and bank deposits, 13 lakh 32 thousand 500 taka from profession (teacher, doctor, law, consultant, etc.) sector, 1 lakh 28 thousand taka from meeting allowance of bank directors.

According to the information of the affidavit of the 12th National Assembly election, Enamul Haque Shamim's movable assets have increased to 56 lakh 2 thousand 853 taka. Currently his movable assets amount to 1 crore 74 lakh 47 thousand 352 taka. Five years ago his movable assets were 1 crore 18 lakh 44 thousand 499 taka. Currently he owns 33 thousand 575 (USD) dollars. Five years ago was the owner of 42 thousand 575 (USD) dollars.

In 5 years, the movable assets of Deputy Minister Enamul Haque Shamim's wife and dependents increased by Tk 38 lakh 79 thousand 37. At present the amount of movable assets of his wife and dependents is one crore 71 lakh 19 thousand 363 taka. Five years ago, the movable assets of his wife and dependents were 1 crore 32 lakh 40 thousand 326 taka. Currently his wife has 43 thousand 169 (USD) dollars as shown in the affidavit. Five years ago his wife did not own any (USD) dollars.

Also, in the affidavit of the 11th National Assembly election, Enamul Haque Shamim mentioned that he himself received 15 tolas of gold and his wife 35 tolas of gold as a gift at the time of marriage, but in the affidavit of the 12th National Assembly elections, he mentioned that during the marriage, he received 15 tolas and his wife 50 tolas of gold uphaza 110 taka. Five years ago there was immovable property worth 1 crore 36 lakh 79 thousand 110 taka. Accordingly, immovable property has decreased by Tk 57 lakh 62 thousand.

36 lakh 41 thousand 287 taka are deposited in banks and financial institutions. There are 38 lakh 35 thousand 65 taka in various types of savings certificates or fixed deposits. Motorcycle (acquisition price) 78 lakh 50 thousand rupees. There are electronic goods and furniture worth Tk 4 lakh 35 thousand. He also has other movable assets of Tk 12 lakh 30 thousand 500. He has government licensed pistols, guns and bullets worth Tk 260,000.

Deputy Minister Shamim currently has Tk 1 lakh 95 thousand 500 in movable assets. Member of Parliament of Shariatpur-2 (Naria-Sakhipur) Constituency and Ministry of Water Resources has Tk 25 lakh 15 thousand 986 in Usheya market, various types of savings paper or fixed deposit sector has Tk 68 lakh 77 thousand 479, electronic goods and furniture has Tk 5 lakh. Deputy Minister's wife has Tk 14 lakh 23 thousand 228 in other sectors. Shamim's dependents have Tk 11 lakh 6 thousand 588 in different types of savings certificates or fixed deposits.

Enamul Haque Shami is mentioned in the affidavit as immovable property. In the affidavit of 34 lakh 47 han, he mentioned the immovable property as the owner of non-agricultural land worth 33 lakh 6 3 lakh 70 thousand taka. Five years ago, the wife is the owner of non-agricultural land worth 24 lakh 44 thousand talas. Five years ago dependents owned non-agricultural land worth Tk 44 lakh 60 thousand.

A case against Shamim in Shariatpur's Damudya police station was withdrawn by the government on January 15, 1993 before the 11th National Assembly elections.
