Affected people demand finishing of construction of dam left by Toma Group

For the maintenance of the railway bridge built on the Dohazari Sangu river, the eastern part of the railway bridge is 300 meters and the western part is supposed to be fenced with boulders for 300 meters.
Nazmul Hossain, Assistant Manager of Dohazari Toma Group, said that when the Toma authorities requested to complete the remaining unfinished work, they sent the matter to the Railway Project Director (PD) on March 4. He also said that the work will be started soon if the permission of the Ministry of Railways is received.
On the other hand, on behalf of the affected people of the area, Bangabandhu Samaj Kalyan Parishad finance secretary Md. Jamal Uddin, Awami League leader Mohammad Ali and Faizur Rahman, several victims said that some dishonest officials of the Toma Group stopped the work on the pretext of obstructing the work of the project.
Dohazari Sangu river is a drought river. If the work is not started on time, the river water will rise during the monsoon season, causing heavy damage to crops, 33,000 KV electrical towers and houses.
Even the railway bridge is likely to be damaged. Considering the matter, the Conscious Mahal sought the foresight of the concerned authorities to start the 140 meter work on an urgent basis.
