8 rioters arrested in B'baria clash, cocktails, indigenous weapons recovered

The joint forces arrested eight rioters in the clash between the two sides in Brahmanbaria Sadar based on the eastern dispute.
On Saturday (October 19) evening, the police and the army conducted a joint operation and arrested them. At this time, 8 unexploded cocktails, 36 indigenous weapons and 4 helmets were recovered from the spot.
The arrested are, Md Jasim Uddin (55), Zahirul Molla (35), Md Jahangir Mia (45), Md Roni (14), Md Shamim (16), Abdul Rafi (17), Md Manik Mia ( 19), Monir Hossain (42).
District Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Iqbal Hossain said that since noon, the two sides had been fighting intermittently over the dominance of the Baraharan area of Sadar Upazila. In this, 30 to 40 houses were attacked, vandalized and looted by both sides.
Many were seriously injured in the collision. After receiving the information, the Sadar police station brought the situation under control in a joint operation by the police and the army. Later, eight people were arrested from the spot along with cocktails and indigenous weapons were recovered. Legal action is pending against them in this incident.
It is mentioned that for a long time there have been frequent clashes in Baraharan village of Brahmanbaria Sadar Upazila under the leadership of Zakir of Umed Group and Elem Group.
