764 retired officials, deprived during AL regime, recommended for promotion

The review committee formed by the government has recommended the promotion of 764 officials who applied claiming to have been deprived during the Awami League regime.
Promotion to the posts of Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary and Secretary has been recommended.
Committee Chief Zakir Ahmed Khan submitted the report with necessary recommendations at the Chief Adviser’s official residence at state guest house Jamuna this morning.
1,540 people have applied to the review committee claiming to have been deprived during the Awami League government.
In the recommendation letter, it has been suggested that 119 people can be promoted to the post of Secretary, 41 people to the post of Grade-1 (Secretary status), 528 people to the post of Additional Secretary, 72 people to the post of Joint Secretary and 4 officials to the post of Deputy Secretary can be promoted.
However, the government is not obliged to implement this recommendation of the committee. If they want, they can also appoint some people on a contractual basis.
The government formed the five-member committee on 16 September 2024.
