6th Upazila Parishad election : Voter turnout 17 pc till noon: EC secretary

Voter turnout of the second phase of the 6th Upazila Parishad election was 16.9% till noon, EC secretary Md Jahangir Alam informed.
The EC secretary said, “No major adverse events occurred. A total of 18 minor incidents occurred.”
The EC secretary said an Ansar member suffered a stroke before the polls in Sirajganj and an old man died after falling ill while standing in the polling line.
He said, generally in our country, voter turnout increases afternoon. Hopefully, the voting rate will increase in the second phase of the day.
However, voter turnout is seemingly low. Agents at different centres say that although the voter turnout is low in the morning, it will change as the day progresses.
