Dudh Puli, Patisapata, Dudh Chitai, Kasturi, Coconut Puli, Meas, Chapa, Coconut Naru, Fish Puli, Pies, Handmade Stitches, Malai Chop, Sesame Chop, Sandesh, Mara, Bibikhana and many more names. All this is the name of pitha.

For the first time this year, a bahari pitha festival and competition was organized with current and former students at the Altaf Golandaz Degree College ground in the heart of Gafargaon Municipal area of Mymensingh. This festival and competition with 60 types of pitha was held at the college on Thursday (January 18) on the initiative of the Aka Gabi Foundation.

College students participated in the competition by making pies at their homes. Many people also got cash by selling pies. The college was buzzing with pitha festival. The festival turns the college into a gathering of freshmen and old and past and present students.

Some of the former students who came to the festival said that they met many old friends by coming to this festival. Many lost pithas of rural Bengal came to be seen at the festival. Their hope is that the festival should be held every year.

Zulekha Khatun Soma, Lecturer of Altaf Golandaj Degree College, the main organizer of the festival, said that the purpose of this event was to create an environment where students can do something, to motivate students. The festival was successful because the college authorities supported my initiative. Our job is to motivate students so that they can do something besides studying.

Altaf Golandaz Degree College Vice Principal Md Mahbubul Alam Khan inaugurated the festival. Gafargaon Press Club General Secretary Nazmul Haque Biplab, Journalist Sheikh Abdul Awal, College Assistant Professor Zulekha Khatun Soma, Md Ashraful Alam, AKM Sarwar Jahan, Mostasimur Rahman Khan Bulbul, Umme Kulsoom and other teachers were present.

During the inauguration, Vice-Principal Md. Mahbubul Alam Khan said that the objective was to bring back the lost delicious pitha by participating in this festival. By participating in it, the students got to know new pithas.
