6 of a family among 7 killed as bus hits auto-rickshaw in Manikganj

Seven people, including six of a family, were killed after a bus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Daulatpur Upazila of Manikganj on Friday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Gobinda, 30, his wife Babita, 25, his three-and-a-half-year-old-daughter Radhe, his father Horekrishna, mother Khukibala and brother Radha Krishna, 40, of Chasabhadra village in Tangail's Nagarpur upazila, and auto-rickshaw driver Jamal, 30, of Manikganj's Daulatpur upazila, said police.
Tania Sultana, assistant superintendent (Shibaloy circle) of Manikganj police, said the Daulatpur-bound bus hit the auto-rickshaw from the opposite direction on Manikganj-Daulatpur road in Mulkandi area around 2:30pm, leaving a passenger of the auto-rickshaw dead on the spot and six others injured.
The injured were taken to Daulatpur Upazila Health Complex where the doctor declared them dead, our Manikganj correspondent reports quoting the police official.
The family was taking Radhe, who was ill, to Munnu Medical College and Hospital in Manikganj on the auto-rickshaw when the accident happened, said Rezaul Karim, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station.
