5 AL, 3 independent candidates win in 8 seats in Tangail

Out of 8 constituencies in Tangail, Awami League candidates won five and independent candidates won three. District Returning Officer and District Commissioner on Sunday night. Kaycharul Islam privately declared them winners during the announcement of the results. The winners are, Awami League candidate in Tangail-1 (Madhupur-Dhanbari) seat. Md. Abdur Razzak won with 174122 votes on boat symbol, his nearest rival candidate Khandaker Anwarul Haque got 4178 votes on truck symbol.
In Tangail-2 (Gopalpur-Bhuyapur) constituency, Awami League candidate Chhota Monir won by getting 151730 votes, while his nearest rival Yunus Islam Talukder got 30486 votes in eagle symbol. In Tangail-3 (Ghatail) constituency, independent candidate Amanur Rahman Rana won by getting 82748 votes with eagle symbol, his nearest rival Dr. Kamrul Hasan got 69035 votes with boat symbol.
In Tangail-4 (Kalihati) constituency, independent candidate Abdul Latif Siddiqui won by getting 70940 votes with truck symbol, his closest rival Awami League candidate Md Mazharul Islam Talukdar got 54075 votes with boat symbol. In Tangail-5 (Sadar) seat, independent candidate Chanwar Hossain won by getting 72276 votes with eagle symbol, his nearest rival Awami League candidate Manuor Or Rashid got 65867 votes with boat.
In Tangail-6 (Nagarpur-Delduar) constituency, Awami League candidate Ahsanul Islam Titu won by getting 112684 votes with boat symbol, his nearest rival independent candidate Tarek Shams Khan Himu got 31292 votes with eagle symbol.
In Tangail-7 (Mirzapur) constituency, Awami League candidate Khan Ahmed won with 88393 votes with Shuvo Noaka, his closest rival independent candidate Mir Enayet Hossain got 57231 votes with Montu truck symbol and Awami League's Anupam Shahjahan in Tangail-8 (Basail-Sakhipur) constituency. Jai won with 96401 votes on the boat symbol, while his nearest rival Bangbir Quader Siddiqui of the Krishak Sramik Janata League got 67501 votes on the towel symbol.
District Returning Officer. Kaycharul Islam said that votes were taken in 1,56 centers of eight parliamentary constituencies in 12 upazilas. 12 platoons of army, 14 platoons of BGB, 12 platoons of RAB and 12 thousand 672 Ansar and VDP members performed duties for fair and peaceful polling. Besides, three policemen and 15 Ansar members were deployed in each centre. There were 76 police mobile teams and 24 striking force teams.
