44th founding anniversary of Fire Service celebrated

The Fire Service and Civil Defence Directorate has celebrated its 44th founding anniversary on Wednesday, says press release. The Director General of the organization, Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, NDC, AFWC, PSC, inaugurated the event by cutting a cake at the Fire Service and Civil Defence Training Complex located in Mirpur, Dhaka. During the occasion, directors and officials of various ranks, along with employees of the directorate, were present.
On the occasion of the anniversary, special prayer ceremonies were organized after the Zuhr prayer at all fire stations and mosques under the Fire Service. Additionally, a friendly lunch was arranged at noon across all divisional offices, district offices, and fire stations.In a message, the Director General extended his greetings to all officers and employees of the Fire Service and Civil Defence on the occasion of the founding anniversary. He also called upon everyone to take an oath, as in previous years, to perform their duties with dedication and strive to enhance the reputation of the Fire Service and Civil Defence. He wished for everyone’s well-being and good health.It is mentioned that the Fire Service and Civil Defence Directorate was established on April 9, 1981, by merging the Fire Service Directorate, the Civil Defence Directorate, and the Rescue Unit of the Roads and Highways Department.
