4 people arrested with 40 pieces of Tapentadol tablets in Manda

Four people have been arrested in a police operation in Manda, Naogaon, along with 40 pieces of Tapentadol tablets and 3,600 taka in cash for drug sales.
They were arrested on Friday at around 8:50 pm in a raid on a mango orchard south of the upazila mosque in Barapoi village of Kusumba Union No. 8 under Manda police station.
The arrested persons are: Md. Mahmudul Haque (45), son of Md. Emdadul Haque, a volunteer League leader from Baropai village adjacent to the upazila gate of Manda upazila, Md. Sujan Hossain (27), son of the late Ainuddin Pramanik from Chakramakant Purbapara village, Md. Abdul Hakim (24), son of Md. Touhidul Islam from Baropai Uttarpara village, and Md. Iqbal Hossain (35), son of Md. Khowaz Hossain from the same village. All of them are residents of Manda upazila of Naogaon.
According to information provided by the police, the arrested persons were allegedly involved in the retail sale of narcotics in collusion with each other. The police conducted a raid on the eve of the sale of Tapentadol tablets in the mango orchard in Barapoi village on Friday night and arrested them.
At that time, 40 pieces of Tapentadol tablets and 3,600 taka in cash from drug sales were recovered from their custody. Later, the police seized the recovered tablets and money through a seizure list.
Manda Police Station OC Afzal Hossain said that a case has been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
