A four- day long Light Engineering Products & Technology Fair was inaugurated at the Pilot High School ground at Saidpur on Saturday.

The fair was inaugurated at the joint initiative of Light Engineering Product Business Promotion Council and Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association (BAISHIMAS) under the Ministry of Commerce at Saidpur.

Central Director of Bangladesh Engineering Industrial Owners Association and President of Saidpur Organizational District Branch, Municipal Councilor Ershad Hossain Pappu Presided over the four-day long ceremonies.

As Saidpur is a commercial town in the Northern region, this technology fair earned a good response in Saidpur. More or less people of all ages visited the fair ground to see the light engineering products.

Saidpur got enriched with lots & lots of skilled craftsmen because of the biggest Railway Workshop. Light engineering products has been developed through those skilled craftsmen.

The products made by the small & big organizations of Saidpur, are spread all over the country, they are also being exported to foreign countries also. It is playing a helpful role in keeping the wheels of the country's economy moving by earning foreign currency. If they can be given government support, then the owners of light engineering industry will play a strong role in the development of this industry.

In addition to Saidpur, there were stalls from Dhaka, Gazipur, Bogra, Panchagarh. 80 stalls of various light engineering industries seen to have present in the fair with their products.

Ahsan Adelur Rahman, Member of Parliament of Nilphamari-4 Constituency, was present as the Chief guest of the inauguration ceremony.

Mostafizur Rahman, Principal of Saidpur Technical School & College was the Chief guest of the second day Seminar. Divisional Superintendent of Saidpur Railway Workshop, Md. Sadequr Rahman was present as the Chief guest of the closing ceremony on Tuesday.

Upazila Chairman of Saidpur Upazila Md. Moksedul Momin, President, Nilphamari Chamber of Commerce & Industry Janab S M Safiqul Alam Dablu, Vice President of Nilphamari Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Raj Kumar Poddar, President of Saidpur Press Club Janab Shakir Hossain Badal and others were present on different ceremonies of the four- day long Fair.
