The 39th founding anniversary of Dhaka University Journalists Association ( DUJA) was celebrated on Thursday through various programmes.

On this occasion, the university's vice-chancellor professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan cut the anniversary cake as chief guest at the function organized at Student-Teacher Center. Later, a rally was taken out at the Student-Teacher Center premises under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor.

Meanwhile, Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, Treasurer Prof. Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, proctor associate professor Saifuddin Ahmed, president of the association Al Sadi Bhuiyan, general secretary Mohiuddin Mahi and other members and former leaders of the association were present.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan congratulated the members of the association and representatives of various media related to the association on the occasion of its foundation anniversary and said that since its establishment, the members of the Dhaka University Journalists Association have been working with dedication and honesty. He expressed hope that their professionalism will continue in the future. He said the university administration will move forward by dealing with various situations with efficiency, transparency and sincerity. The Vice-Chancellor called upon the members of the Dhaka University Journalists' Association to fully cooperate in this progress.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha highlighted the importance of mass communication in people's lives and said that the Dhaka University Journalists' Association is being run by the activities of young journalists. He expressed hope that the members of the association would cooperate with the administration to work for truth and justice.

Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that the role of media in establishing good governance is very important. He expects the cooperation of members of Dhaka University Journalists Association to establish good governance of Dhaka University and maintain a fair environment for education.
