Three people, including a schoolgirl, died after drowning in flood waters in Moulvibazar. A child and a teenager died after drowning in flood water in Shyamerkona village of Chandnighat Union of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila on Thursday, The deceased are Pachan Miar of West Shamerkona village.

Son of Chadi Mia (8) and son of Mia of the same village, Hriday Mia (17) Aktar Uddin, chairman of Chandnighat Union Parishad, said that the dam of Dhalai river broke and the roads and crop lands of nearby villages including Shymerkona village were submerged in water. Both of them drowned because they did not know how to swim while playing in the water on Thursday afternoon. Neighbors saw the incident and rescued the two from the water and brought them home. The news After reaching the spot, they were taken to the Moulvibazar 250-bed Sadar Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared them both dead.

On the other hand, a student named Ayesa Begum (12) died after drowning in flood water in Baralekha upazila. The incident took place in Bhagadahar village of the upazila on Thursday afternoon. The deceased Aisha is the daughter of Md. Samach Uddin of that village. He was studying in the sixth standard of the local Gallasangan High School. According to local sources, the last few days of heavy rains and upwelling of 10 unions of Baralekha upazila.

Various villages were flooded. Schoolgirl Ayesa Begum came out of her house to see flood water near her house on Thursday afternoon. At one point, he accidentally drowned in the flood water and died. Later relatives recovered his body.
