3-day Science Fair, Quiz Competition ends in Munshiganj

The closing and award ceremony of the three-day 46th National Science and Technology Week, Science Fair, and 9th Science Olympiad and Quiz Competition organised by Munshiganj District administration was held on Thursday, at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium.
Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Fatema tul Jannat was present as chief guest. Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Kamran Hossain was present as a special guest. The event was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Md. Mahmudur Rahman Khondoker. Officials from the district administration and teachers and students from various educational institutions were present.
The keynote paper was presented by Associate Professor Md. Shafiqul Islam from Government Haraganga College. His paper discussed the definition of science, common misconceptions about science, scientific methods, the purpose of scientific research, and the relationship of science with society and politics.
In her speech, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for students to enhance their engagement with science, to develop a curious mindset toward scientific matters, and especially to encourage female students to advance in scientific studies.
At the end of the seminar, the Deputy Commissioner distributed prizes among the winners of the quiz competition, Olympiad, and science project exhibition.
