20-feet long python rescued from Sharankhola

A 20-feet long python was rescued from a garden in the village Sonatala, adjacent to Sundarbans within Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district on Friday afternoon  according to a delayede report received here. 
 
The python killed a goat in order swallow it. The rescued python was released into Sundarbans on the same day in the evening.
 
 Md. Khalilur Rahman, leader of the Community Group (CGP) of Sonatala village told, after not finding a goat belonging to one Mariam Begam of the village, she went to a garden belonging to her neighbour Malek at about 3 pm and saw a huge python that held her goat after killing the same. She saw the scene and informed CGP leader Khalilur Rahman who rushed to the
spot along with CGP and VTRT members. But after being alerted by the people the python left the goat and took shelter in a bushy area of the garden, the CPG and VTRT members rescued it from there.
 
 Md. Faruk Hossain, OC  of Sharankhola Forest Station within Sharankhola Forest Range (under the Eastern Sundarbans in Bagerhat district) told, later, the rescued python weighing 55 kgs rescued from the village Sonatala was
released in Sundarbans by the members of CPG and VTRT with the help of the forest guards on the same day in the evening.
