17 temporary cattle markets to be set up in N'ganj for Eid-ul-Adha

Eid-ul-Adha, one of the most important religious festivals for Muslims, is approaching. Like every year, the Narayanganj City Corporation is preparing to set up temporary cattle markets for sacrificial animals. According to city corporation sources, a total of 17 temporary markets will be set up at different locations across the city. However, no markets will be set up inside the main city gates to ensure smooth public movement.

 A notice signed by City Corporation Secretary Noor-e-Kutubul Alam was issued on Thursday detailing the cattle market arrangements.

 Tender Process Begins: According to the notice, tenders for leasing the markets will be available for purchase for two days starting May 25. Interested parties can collect tenders during this time. The deadline for submission is May 27, and the tenders will be opened at 3:30 PM the same day. The final lessees will be selected through this transparent process.

 Locations of the 17 Markets: As per the city corporation’s announcement, markets will be set up in key areas for public convenience. Locations include regions in Siddhirganj, Kadamrasul, and other areas:

 In Siddhirganj Region: Ward 1: CI Khola Sand Field. Ward 3: Saju Developer's empty land (former BDD area). Ward 4: Nurul Huda’s empty land, north of Monwara Jute Mill. Ward 5: Bottola Sand Field. Ward 6: Salauddin’s empty land near SO Road Terminal. Ward 7: Kashempara area near Navana. Ward 9: DND canal area on Wapda Road, Jalkuri and dumping spot area. Ward 10: Empty ground of Ibrahim Textile Mill in Godnail

 In Kadamrasul Region:Ward 19: Empty space behind Summit Power Plant.Ward 20: West side of Sonakanda ground, Ward 23: Latif Haji’s corner in Purbo Para, Samar Kshetra ground, and Kashem Jamal’s land near Kabila Mor on Ali Ahmad Chunka Road

 Other Areas: Ward 24: Golondaz’s land in Kaitakhali, Ward 25: Empty land in Chourapara and near the ferry terminal in North Laxmankhola.

 The city corporation has also mentioned that the number of markets may be adjusted based on circumstances, with the goal of ensuring smooth animal trading for city residents.
