15 police injured in Lalmonirhat truck crash, driver arrested

A truck carrying drums collided with a police vehicle at the Hardibhanga Mazhar area in Lalmonirhat on Monday morning.
The accident injured 15 police officers who were heading to provide security at a local fair.
Six critically injured officers were taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, while nine others with minor injuries were admitted to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital. The injured include officers like SI Rafiqul Islam and constables Sabuj Miah and Manik.
Locals quickly rescued the injured and sent them to hospitals. Police arrested the truck driver, Sohan, after the incident. Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Nur Nabi confirmed the arrest and assured legal action against the driver.
“We are investigating the incident and hope for the speedy recovery of the injured officers,” said OC Nur Nabi.
