A non-violent protest in Tangail's Bhuyapur led to the arrest of a Bangladeshi women activist and sent to jail on Saturday.

On Monday, 13 more people, including women workers, were arrested by Bhuyapur police station. The members of non-violent mass protest Bangladesh are deceiving the simple people of the area and taking ID cards and money with the slogan of 'I will recover the looted money, I will take the money without interest'. On Monday afternoon, members of this group arrested 13 people from Bhuyapur bus stand on their way to Dhaka in a black colored microbus Yoga (Dhaka Metro-Ch-7061).

The arrested are Md. Abdur Rashid (65), son of Danez Ali of Naruchi village of Gopalpur upazila, Zainal Hossain, son of Abdul Mannan of Banmali village, Shilpi (45), wife of Khalilur Rahman of New Shimla Para, Najma Begum (45), wife of Ayub Nabi of the same village, of Gopalpur. Samiran (65), wife of Abdul Quader, deceased Amjad of Naruchi village Ali's wife Hafiza (45), Mahir Uddin (50), son of Basa Sheikh of Char Bharua village of Bhuyapur Upazila, Khairul (22), son of Jamal of the same village, Md. Mazur's son Sagar (21), son of Basa Sheikh, Abdus Samad (80), deceased Chan Mina's son Motaleb (28), deceased Minhaj's son, Thandu (40) and Md. Jewel's wife Mocha: Rahimake. (25) Police arrested.

According to the police, on November 25, the non-violent mass uprising in Dhaka's Shahbagh was going to Dhaka for a protest march and meeting. People of the village are distributing leaflets with the intention of getting lakhs of taka without interest. For this they collected ID cards of people from different villages of Gopalpur and Bhuapur upazilas.

OC of Bhuyapur Police Station AKM Rezaul Karim said that they are members of an organization called Ahimsa Ganaabhyatthan Bangladesh. They are deceiving simple people and stealing ID cards and money. They are taking money by promising to give loan without interest.
