On the occasion of the 104th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children's Day, wreath laying, rally, discussion meeting and award distribution ceremony was organized by Doha Upazila Administration of Dhaka.

Sheikh Annar Koli Putul, reserved women parliamentarian and joint general editor of Central Women's Awami League, was present as the chief guest at the discussion meeting on the occasion of the 104th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children's Day at the Upazila Parishad premises on Sunday morning. In his speech, he said that the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation, should be realized in this country. Therefore, today's birthday celebration will be meaningful and everyone should work together to build Bangabandhu's dream of Sonar Bangla. The present Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, the privileged daughter of the great hero of the nation, is determined to live up to her father's ideals.

He also said, on behalf of the people of Doha and Nawabganj, I would like to thank Salman F Rahman MP, Member of Parliament for Dhaka-1 Constituency and Prime Minister's Adviser on Private Industry and Investment. Due to his efforts, big development projects are going on in Doha and Nawabganj, if they are implemented, the picture here will change.

Dhaka District Jubo League Joint Convener Md. Masud Ahmed Molla spoke as a guest in the discussion meeting under the chairmanship of Doha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Zakir Hossain.

Chairman of Doha Upazila Parishad and President of Upazila A'League Md. Alamgir Hossain, Town Mayor and Vice President of Upazila Awami League Md. Almach Uddin, General Editor Md. Nurul Haque Bepari, Upazila Women's Vice Chairman Shamima Islam Bithi, were present as special guests. Former Senior Vice President of Dhaka District Awami League Freedom Fighter Md. Fazlul Haque, Former Freedom Fighter Commander Md. Rajjab Ali Molla, Officer-in-Charge of Doha Police Station Md. Harun Or-Rashid, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Mamun Khan, Upazila Health and Planning Officer Dr. Jasim Uddin, Upazila Animal Resources Officer Dr. Shamim Hossain, Upazila Women's Affairs Officer Sabrina Lucky, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Rakib Hossain and UP Chairman and Councilors.

Earlier in the morning in the Upazila Parishad premises, the upazila administration, Awami League and affiliated organization leaders, leaders of various social organizations and students paid tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait in turn. Later at 10 o'clock a rally was taken out under the leadership of UNO Md. Zakir Hossain of the upazila administration. At the end of the rally, the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's childhood and political issues were highlighted in a painting and debate competition among the students at the Upazila Parishad premises. Later, the chief guest handed over the prizes to the winners, the reserved MP Sheikh Annar Koli doll.

On the other hand, on the occasion of the day, various educational institutions are said to have organized discussion meetings, milad and prayers on this day.
