Keeping in mind the slogan 'Youth is the key to change', an advocacy meeting was held in Satkhira to strengthen nexus programming with service providers.

On Sunday at 10 am, the meeting was held at the Ellarchar Shrimp Farm Conference Room to strengthen Nexus Programming under the Eforti project implemented by the non-governmental development organization Cido and in collaboration with ActionAid Bangladesh. The meeting was chaired by Cido Satkhira Chief Executive, Shyamal Kumar Biswas, and Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development, Satkhira, Sanjit Kumar Das was present as the chief guest.

Special guests present were Nazmun Nahar, Deputy Director of the Department of Women's Affairs, Satkhira, and Md. Rokanuzzaman, Assistant Director of the District Social Services Department.

Agricultural Extension Officer Rafia Fahmida Rima, Satkhira Fire Service and Civil Defense Firefighter Shahriar, OCC Md. Abdul Hai Siddiqui, Brakashrajpur UP Panel Chairman Nurul Huda, former Municipal Panel Mayor Shafiq-ud-Daula Sagar, JDF President Farida Akhter Beauty, District Imam Association Secretary Mabbubur Rahman, and journalist Mostafizur Rahman Ujjal were present.
Activist Shakib Hasan presented the results of Satkhira's community consultation and upazila action plan on strengthening the youth-led nexus advocacy.
The main goal of Nexus is to reduce the multidimensional risks of disaster-prone local communities in Satkhira.

The meeting discussed various problems and demands identified with the participation of local communities and youth. Under the Nexus Program, various important issues including waterlogging and drainage system, potable water and sanitation crisis, lack of sustainable livelihoods and employment, cybercrime, violence and discrimination against women, social risks of drug addicts and youth, agricultural hazards due to increasing salinity, and health risks due to climate change were given special importance with the participation of local communities and youth.

The speakers said that the integrated nexus approach can play an important role as an effective and sustainable initiative in addressing the multidimensional and interrelated crises in Satkhira. By ensuring the participation of the local community under the leadership of youth, it has been possible to identify realistic solutions based on the resources and potential of the problem.
